Yann Gozlan, founder and president of Creative Valley, is chairing again this year the ANDAM 2021 INNOVATION AWARD. He interviewed Pierre-François on his vision of tomorrow's Fashion.

1 / What has made the biggest impression on you this year in terms of innovation ? And especially in the Fashion sector ?

This year of the pandemic has been an opportunity to think deeply about the fashion industry, its utility, necessary, responsibility, creativity. Facing this new situation, brands have redoubled their innovations to present their collections, to sell them, to design them too. What seems to me the most structuring, is that tech innovations are helping now the brands to resolve identity issues : Fashion identity has been questioned by the lockdown, the Green wave threatened to overwhelmed it. Thanks to innovative solutions, the Fashion is able to prove that it has a future and that it participate to a collective challenge : that of preserving our planet while continuing to make people happy to wear clothes and promoting a certain idea of the contemporary creation.

2 / What do you expect from the start-ups that will compete this year to the ANDAM 2021 Innovation Award ?

I expect them not to simply help the brands to do business but that they help Fashion professionals to build a fairer Fashion, more respectful of the environment, and also men and women who made Fashion every day.

3 / Do you have an advice to be given to them or to innovation entrepreneurs who entered the Fashion industry ?

Our sector is extraordinary complex. A culture of the sector is thus indispensable if we want to succeed. The mastery of technologies and funding are not enough. Fashion is facing to an incredible number of challenges that it now overcome. The French market is at -15% in 2020 after a year of decrease. Our industry transformation is therefore done in pain and yet we know that it's necessary. All of these challenges are as much opportunities for the sector newcomers. But companies are not able to do everything, even if there is much to do, their integration capacity of these innovations is real but limited.

Entrepreneurs must therefore take a stand on vital solutions for our industry if they want get the listening of the market.

Thanks Pierre-François for your time and your lighting.
